Ashley Virginia receives artist support grant from NC Arts Council
ArtsGreensboro and The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County are proud to announce Artist Support Grants, totaling $84,500, were awarded to artists in Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, and Randolph counties to support professional and artistic development. Ashley Virginia is among 59 artists who were selected to receive funding support. The grants are funded by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, as part of a statewide initiative to support artists.
Ashley has received funding in order to support touring efforts to Montreal, Canada in the month of February, where Ashley will attend and showcase at Folk Alliance International. Folk Alliance International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the global folk music community. Established in 1989, it fosters connections among artists, industry professionals, and enthusiasts through various programs and events, including an annual conference that brings together musicians, presenters, and fans from around the world. The organization emphasizes the development and promotion of folk music in its many forms, offering educational resources, networking opportunities, and support for artists to thrive in their careers. Through its initiatives, Folk Alliance International seeks to advance the appreciation of folk music and its cultural significance, encouraging collaboration and advocacy within the genre.
